Samsung A80 Video Reviews
Samsung has been the undisputed leader in manufacturing mid and high-end phones. However, in recent past, the company has gotten stiff competition from Chinese brands such as Oppo and Huawei, which seem to be taking a big chunk out of Samsung’s pie, especially in developing markets. As a result, the South Korean tech company has had no choice but to up its game. Although most Samsung Galaxy A series smartphones including Galaxy A9 have performed well in the market, Samsung knew that it had to go a notch higher to neutralize the stiff competition that is currently facing and they did not disappoint when they launched the Samsung Galaxy A80. The spectacular design and appearance of A80 are arguably more eye-catching than the Galaxy S10, which happens to be the company’s flagship phone. This phone has many amazing features including notch-less display, huge 6.7 AMOLED FHD screen, unique motorized camera, and much more. With the launch of the A80, Samsung has managed to silence most of its critics and proved why they are the leading tech company in the world.
Samsung Galaxy A80 display and design
You will fall in love with the A80 the moment you hold it. If there is something that you can always count on when it comes to Samsung phones, it’s their high-quality screens. The A80 features a 6.7-inch super AMOLED display with small bezels. The AMOLED screen features a bright color and a high contrast ratio, enabling an excellent viewing experience. The phone has 1080 by 2400 screen resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio which makes for a 393 PPI. The A80 is the only phone that has shown what notch-less display means. There are no forehead bezels as it is the case with note 9 and Galaxy s9. There are also many features in the setting menu that you can use to adjust the screen to your preference.
This smartphone does not have a front camera. Instead, the primary camera also doubles as the selfie lens. When you click the selfie camera mode, the motorized triple camera flips over to face you. This means that the quality of selfie photos is just as good as one taken on the rear camera. This is a unique feature that has never been seen before. Most phones, like the Oppo F11 Pro, have a motorized pop-up mechanism for their selfies. The mechanism that A80 uses makes the motorized pop-up camera seem overly simplistic.
The power button sits on the right while the volume button sits on the left. The phone does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. A80 is not the first phone to eliminate this feature. It is a feature that new middle and high-end phones are getting rid of. The USB-C port sits on the bottom side. The back of the phone is made of the latest Gorilla Glass 6, which is extremely tough and resistant to scratches.
Software, hardware, and performance
The A80 runs on a customized Samsung OneUI over Android 9 pie. The OneUI was first used on their flagship phone, the Galaxy S10 and has plenty of new features and improvements. Some of these improvements include the ability to choose between a navigation bar and gestures. The A80 is armed with QUALCOMM snapdragon 730, which is one the most powerful chipsets ever used on Android Phones. The eight powerful processors are supported by 8GB of RAM and 128GB non-expandable storage. If you are looking for a phone with excellent performance, then you won’t go wrong if you choose the A80. It is perfect for game lovers and heavy phone users. The phone also features a fingerprint sensor on the lower side of the display that is accurate and responds instantly.
Cameras of the Samsung Galaxy A80
This smartphone features a flippy platform that houses three cameras. They include the 48MP F/20 primary camera supported by 8MP f/2.2 snapper with an ultra-wide lens and a 3D time to flight f/1.2 camera that senses depth to give better portraits. It also adds bokeh background blur in live focus mode. The second 8MP camera has a wide lens and takes high-quality pictures. The 48MP primary camera is the real deal here. It takes excellent photos with excellent colors. A combination of the three cameras results in quality, well-detailed pictures both in well-lit and not so well-lit areas. Selfie lovers are also not left out. This camera features a flip-over mechanism that allows you to take selfies. However, unlike other smartphones that have a front and rear camera, the Galaxy A80 only has one camera. This means that the front and back camera is the same. All that you need to do to take a selfie is activate the selfie mode the camera will flip over to face you. The A80 is currently the only phone that delivers the same picture quality on the front and rear cameras.
Battery Performance of the Samsung A80
The A80 is powered by a 3700mAH battery. Although the A80 battery size is slightly smaller than one used in A70 (4500mAh), it is still powerful and can last for up to 9 hours. The phone comes with a 25W USB C charger that fills 50% of the battery in around 30 minutes. It takes around 1hour to fill the battery fully.
Samsung has stepped things up with Samsung Galaxy A80. The phone design and display are very impressive. The phone’s performance is also on a different level. Camera lovers are also not left out. The triple motorized camera that this phone boasts off takes high quality, detailed photos. We highly recommend this phone for anyone who is looking for a sturdy, classy and attractive mid-range phone.
